Good morning, AI enthusiasts. Two 17-year-olds built a calorie tracking app that reached $30M in annual revenue before they turned 20, and MyFitnessPal just paid to make sure they're on the same team.

CAL AI & MYFITNESSPAL
MyFitnessPal buys the teen-built calorie app
Recaply: MyFitnessPal just acquired Cal AI, the AI calorie app built by two 17-year-olds that reached 15 million downloads and $30M in annual revenue before its founders turned 20.
Key details:
Cal AI will stay as a separate app, with users now getting access to MFP's database of 20 million foods, 68,500 brands, and meals from 380+ restaurant chains.
Cal AI grew from zero to $30M in annual revenue and 15 million downloads in under two years, with Sensor Tower now showing it neck-and-neck with MFP in the top health and fitness category rankings.
MFP CEO Mike Fisher said deal talks started in early 2025 and lasted almost a year, with co-founder Zach Yadegari, now 19, still running the app while attending college.
Cal AI's team of seven employees and contractors was fully retained when the deal closed in December 2025.
Why it matters: Cal AI's story doesn't fit the usual AI startup template. Two teenagers, starting at 17, built an app that grew faster than a legacy market leader could ignore. The acquisition suggests AI-native apps built for speed and simplicity are starting to define what fitness apps need to feel like. MyFitnessPal keeping it separate isn't a concession. It's a sign they're going after different users, and Cal AI might be onto something they can't replicate from the inside.

OpenAI's Pentagon deal triggers ChatGPT user revolt
Recaply: Sensor Tower just reported that ChatGPT U.S. uninstalls jumped 295% day-over-day after OpenAI's Pentagon deal went public, with 1-star reviews surging 775% and Claude overtaking ChatGPT in daily downloads for the first time.
Key details:
ChatGPT's typical uninstall rate is 9% day-over-day, according to Sensor Tower. The 295% spike on February 28 reflected direct consumer backlash against OpenAI's classified network deal with the Department of War.
Claude's daily U.S. downloads surpassed ChatGPT for the first time on February 28, according to Appfigures, with Similarweb estimating Claude's weekly U.S. downloads at roughly 20x January levels.
Appfigures found Claude is now the No. 1 free iPhone app in six countries outside the U.S., including Canada, Germany, and Switzerland, suggesting the backlash extended beyond American users.
ChatGPT downloads fell 13% day-over-day on Saturday and 5% more on Sunday, while Claude has held the No. 1 spot on the U.S. App Store since Saturday, jumping more than 20 positions in one week.
Why it matters: ChatGPT is the most downloaded AI app in the world. That brand power apparently has a floor, and it seems to be somewhere near "Pentagon deal." The speed of the user response is the real story. This wasn't a slow drift, it was a single-day revolt. Claude's gain isn't just about downloads. It reflects where users want their AI tool to stand on something that matters to them. That kind of trust is hard to recover.
TUTORIAL
Move your AI memory from ChatGPT to Claude

Recaply: In this tutorial, you will learn how to use Claude's memory import feature to transfer your preferences, writing style, and project context from any AI chatbot to Claude — so your first conversation feels like your hundredth.
Step-by-step:
Go to claude.com/import-memory and click "Get started" — Anthropic provides a pre-written extraction prompt on the page, designed to pull all stored context from your current AI in one go.
Paste that prompt into your current AI chatbot (ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, or others) and copy the full output — this is your portable context block containing your preferences, projects, and working style.
Return to Claude's memory settings at Settings → Capabilities → Memory, paste the output into the import box, and click "Add to memory."
Open Settings → Capabilities → Memory → "View and edit your memory" to review everything Claude imported — you can add, edit, or delete entries before they become permanent.
Recreate any Custom GPTs by copying their instructions from ChatGPT and creating a Claude Project: go to claude.ai → Projects → New Project, paste the instructions under Project Settings, and upload any reference files.
Pro tip: Imported memories take up to 24 hours to fully sync since Claude updates in daily cycles. In the meantime, paste your context block directly into any new Claude chat — Claude will use it immediately without waiting for memory to process.

Adopt the role of conversion optimization specialist. You're creating FAQ content for affiliate product review pages where trust is fragile and skepticism runs high. Visitors arrive with purchase intent but need reassurance about product claims, your credibility, and whether clicking your affiliate links is safe. Previous FAQ attempts failed because they were generic corporate speak that increased doubt rather than building confidence.
